About

Randle Tea Company is a small business located in Boerne Texas focused on making new premium tea blends with unique and delicous flavors. I have been an avid tea drinker my whole life which grew into a hobby of mixing tea leaves with various spices and herbs for fun in my free time. As time went on I stabilized my experiments into consistent flavors and grew a desire to share my results with everyone else who loves tea. I currently sell my blends at the farmers market at Herff farm in Boerne on Saturday mornings and the Boerne market at 402 E Blanco on Tuesday evenings. All blends use a ceylon black tea base and are available in both loose leaf jars and teabag tins.

Extra Info:

Much of the branding material I have designed comes from a love and respect for my English heritage. The Randle family is one of the early English settlers of America and came and settled in Texas very early on. The crest I use takes elements from existing crests then changes and adds elements to represent the business, such as the mantle being composed of camellia sinensis, the plant that the tea leaves we drink come from. I also have a passing interest in linguistics, particularly English and its history; I've had fun with the flavor names making sure they all make use of alliteration for fun.

The symbols you may have noticed beneath the flavor names is the flavors rewritten in runes used in a manner compatible with modern English. Before Latin letters were adapted and used for almost all European languages (rather poorly honestly, this is the root for many complaints people tend to have with inconsistent spelling rules and sounds) the germanic languages used their own system of writing. There are several variations of these runic systems for the different languages such as elder futhark used in old norse. The system used in Old English was the Anglo-Saxon futhorc which was adapted from futhark specifically for English and contains 33 different runes. I learned a version of the futhorc adapted for use with modern English from a website known as Rune School.
